Faith • Civilization • Theology (FCT) is an independent, cross-denominational, Christ-centred, open-access theological journal published in Australia.

FCT exists to support serious Christian scholarship, thoughtful theological reflection and responsible engagement with Scripture, history, culture and the life of the Church.

Aims and scope

The journal welcomes work engaging with:

  • Scripture and biblical studies;
  • Christian theology;
  • church history and the history of Christianity;
  • ecclesiology and Christian practice;
  • ethics and public theology;
  • Christianity and culture;
  • global Christianity;
  • ministry, formation and the life of Christian communities;
  • and related areas of theological inquiry.

FCT welcomes contributions from scholars and appropriately qualified practitioners across Christian traditions, provided submissions meet the journal’s scholarly, ethical and editorial requirements.

Research articles, theological reflections, ministry case studies and book reviews serve different purposes and may follow different forms of assessment. Each contribution is identified by type so readers can understand the nature of the work they are reading.

Publication model

The inaugural issue is:

Volume 1, Issue 1 — July–December 2026

From 2027, FCT publishes two issues each year:

Issue 1 — January–June
Issue 2 — July–December

Contributions are published continuously within the relevant issue once editorial and publication requirements have been completed.

Editorial independence

FCT is editorially independent.

Institutional, professional or academic affiliations identify contributors, editors and reviewers and do not imply endorsement of the journal or of individual published views.

Editorial decisions are made in accordance with the journal’s published policies, including its Author Guidelines, Peer Review Policy and Publication Ethics.
